Wednesday.

It's tough, but I'm making it through the week. Halfway done (monday's sickday doesn't count)

The colon's not helping. It's getting bad again.

I'm hitting a musical stagnation point. Does it lead to a redux into the archives of my media storage to dig out the stuff I haven't given a look in a year or so but is still classic stuff? Or is there music out there that's waiting to hit me in time for summer-- something that isn't the Strokes, who haven't wowed me with "First Impressions on Earth"? Two summers ago, "Room on Fire" was on the speakers virtually every day. And that was the supposed sophomore slump. Maybe we've gone separate ways. And The Flaming Lips? "At War With the Mystics" hasn't wowed me either... :-/

"A Perfect Sonnet" by Bright Eyes and "The Adventure" by Angels and Airwaves are two songs on my playlist right now that show this split. Convergence of old and new? The ultimate mixtape.

Wow, as I write this, wouldn't that be like the Philosopher's Stone, Excalibur, or the Universal TV remote... The all-powerful, all-accessible, perfectly-well-rounded, with just the right amount of similarity and contrast in style, genre, and mood to create the play anywhere, do anything mixtape.

Is it possible? Most likely not.

But I declare it here:

GOAL #1 OF THE SUMMER: TRY TO CREATE THE ULTIMATE MIX(TAPE/CD).
