Yeah so here's the deal on yesterday... The trial for the dude that stole from me at the mall...
So, they were behind when i got there, so I sat and watched the few cases before, two of which nobody showed up for, a third a guy tried to defend himself... which was pretty funny to watch. So my case comes up, turns out the guy had 8 outstanding felony charges as well as a few misdemeanors as of the time he was arrested in August: OUIL, assault, a bunch of stuff... I went out to the hall when the prosecutor wanted to talk to me about what was going on... found they reduced his charge because of 'the grand scheme of things' (ugh... i still don't like the idea of charge reductions...), and I found it funny when a few people from the D.A.'s office and another cop or two in the hall found out I was the kid the dude got... they all knew him well I guess. Notorious lol... but yeah, the defendant almost decided to take it to trial, but then changed his mind and pled guilty to "attempted larceny <$200"... so, 'the check's in the mail' for restitution payment, he's got another month on his numerous convictions or future convictions on all his charges, and things are cool.
Saw Skiles there. His brother got arrested Tuesday night, and he couldn't bail him out yet because some guy died in the jail overnight... investigation and all.
