So, yesterday, SCC skipped off to Prince Albert as a mini warm-up tour before Europe. I got up and had a teeeeeeerrrrrrible migrane, so took a bunch of drugs and put on a pair of sunglasses to wear everywhere and Cat and I, driven by our daddy, met where our tour bus would pick of the choir. We met there at noon with our SCC backpacks and SCC garmet bags, wearing our SCC navy polo T-shirts and jean bottoms as we were instructed, hair off our faces wearing little make-up and no nail/toe polish, as per regulaitons. We got on the bus, drove a couple of hours, then took a short walk in PA to stretch our legs. Then we did an extensive cue-to-cue at the building we'd be performing in, the had supper at a little United Church that had kindly made us food. Then we got back to the performance building, changed into our performance tunics and made our hair neater, and it was showtime! We had a nice little crowd of a little over a hundred. At intermission, we changed into our peace tunics and then performed the second half. Our little audience gave us a standing ovation and an encour, so we performed one more song and then headed back to change into our casual uniforms (the polo shirt and jeans) and got back on the bus. The whole performance was two hours of just us singing and sometimes dancing, so Aunt Phoebe, the director, was fairly impressed with our stamina. So was I, considering our youngest members are about 11 years old (not even kidding). We then crashed the retirement party of one of our major sponsers for the opera next year and sang for him. That was a ridiculous amount of fun, since it was really informal, and we all agreed we have to do stuff like that more often. We arrived home at about midnight, and then I went straight to bed because, needless to say, I was exhausted. Now I'm studying for finals. In theory.
I forgot to mention that, at the school's blood clinic a couple weeks ago, I was able to donat! Yay! That's twice in a row now (three total)! The two times before that they wouldn't let me give because my iron was too low. Stupid anaemia. I prepared this time, taking vitamins and this weird tasting liquid iron suplement, so I guess that helped. Yay!
Quote from on the bus! This one is Bronemily, who go to WMCI and just finished gr 9. They are, as I'm sure you've predicted (or, possibly, I've told you before) two people that go absolutely everywhere together. They are talking about JWAS to Catherine (the new president along with Felix) in this following quote...
Emily: "When you die - or, like, graduate - can we take over?"
Bronwyn: "Will Felix be dead by then?"
I just found it amusing that they expect death to come before graduation.
