The Crowd Shall Rock

So, I haven’t updated in awhile. Actually I did try to update about a week ago, but the damn thing erased my entry right after I finished it. I’m in E-Commerce class right now, which sucks ass. This class is so damn unorganized, and when that is the case I’m too lazy to do anything. Anyway, off the subject of school, this summer JT and I are forming a band called The Crowd with me on bass and vocals, JT on lead guitar and vocals, Brian Shumaker on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Afroman on drums. We’re going to write original stuff and plus live play a bunch of covers in addition to the original stuff. My guess is that JT and I are going to be the main songwriters since we’ve already written some songs. JT has written many more songs than I probably because he can play guitar a lot better than I can, though, even though I’ve only really written 2 or 3 songs so far, I’m putting more time and thought into perfecting them before I finish them and move on to the next song. I’ve record two songs and a bass line for a third on my dad's computer. The first of which, called Without You, is pretty much finished. I recorded all the parts on my computer including a solo, which isn’t that great since I’m not really much of a guitarist, but funny as a filler until JT actually plays a solo in the future. Recording all the parts myself is basically just so I can remember them later. They won't be the actually recordings. They're just demos. I also recorded another song called Autumn Leaves, which has better lyrics than Without You (especially considering that Without You is simply a sappy love song), but the music still lacks and is a bit too repetitive, so I may need to work on it a bit more. The third untitled song that I have a bass line for may end up just turning into either a jam or something that I will only be co-writing. Anyway, our EP in the summer is to be called Firing Squad And The Last Cigarette and our full album that will later be released has a working title of His Boy Elroy, but I’m not so sure about that title, especially since my dad suggested it. We should be doing covers of many bands including Led Zeppelin, The Strokes, The Velvet Underground, Television, Pink Floyd (possibly all of Dark Side Of The Moon), Radiohead, maybe Yes, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Weezer, maybe Nirvana if I can talk them into it, Derek Trucks Band, Jimi Hendrix, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis, The Clash, maybe Green Day, maybe Alice In Chains, The Beatles, The White Stripes, maybe The Pixies, Black Sabbath, and possibly more. I wanna do some metal stuff too, but I think the only thing I can talk the others into playing is Iron Maiden, which is still good, but perhaps I can talk them into playing just one Megadeth song also. As you can probably tell, I’m pretty excited about this band. I really wanted to be in a band other than Veracity, the church cover band that I’m in, and write my own stuff and actually play rock besides Christian stuff and Kiss. I hope things work out for us cause I’m sure as hell ready for some rocking.
