I'm thinking not. I'll be doing a bit too much traveling around, and I'll want to travel pretty light. scjody reports that, while it's possible to do either a bike trip or a random tourist trip without too much difficulty, it's very hard to combine the two. Finding somewhere safe for it in a hostel might also be a challenge.

I know it's a bit silly to buy a new bike and then leave the continent for 6 weeks, but I figure I'll make up for it in June and August :)
