At The Mountains Of Madness

In case anybody ever picks up a copy of Blood Ritual's At The Mountains Of Madness, the track listing on the back is in the wrong order.

According to the track listing (on the CD I have, anyway), this is the song order on the CD:

  1. Invocation
  2. Sanguine Deity
  3. Opaque Divinity
  4. Rites Of The Mad Prophet
  5. The Temple Of Carnal Desire (Church Of Satan)
  6. Ancient Rites
  7. Sweet Suffering
  8. Cruciform Antithesis
However, if you read the lyrics contained on the inside of the booklet (the available lyrics, that is--there was a misprint and a page appears twice in the booklet), the song order SHOULD be this:

  1. Invocation
  2. Ancient Rites
  3. Sweet Suffering
  4. The Temple Of Carnal Desire (Church Of Satan)
  5. Sanguine Deity
  6. Cruciform Antithesis
  7. Opaque Divinity
  8. Rites Of The Mad Prophet
This correct list was compiled through a process of elimination. Portions of all songs except for Cruciform Antithesis are inside of the booklet.

It's a good album. It's a shame they had a shit job of an album layout put together.

Now, a quote, found on the inside of the album, on the back of the booklet:

"Sanity is only a perception--a mortal concept, created by those who wish to dictate our awareness. Purity of consciousness must be achieved to rise beyond the boundaries of reality. Higher realms of existence are accessible, but only to those few who are willing to put aside the hinderance of emotion. The masses of humanity have been blinded. True knowledge and power have been obscured by the teachings of an uncaring god. Forget all that society has tought you, for that is the path unto oblivion. Remain aware. Evolve unto higher states. Seek the truth in the darkness, for in it you shall be enlightened."
