If you've got Windows XP and you've got it fine-tuned exactly the way you want it, you probably don't want to have to install all sorts of programs all over again if you ever have to reinstall.
There's an excellent guide to creating a customized Windows XP installation CD and making it completely automatic (unattended). It's located at
MSFN (Microsoft Software Forum Network).
Eventually, you'll need to create a bootable CD to install from. I've taken MSFN's CDImage bundles and improved them. They're easier to use, and more easily customizable for the end-user:

Just download and unzip the appropriate one into a directory (such as C:\ or C:\Program Files\) and view the Readme.txt file that is in the unzipped folder for instructions.
