Problem Solved ... Sorta

Before opening the entire driver's side door to get at the door ajar switch, I manually closed the latching mechanism in the door (all the way, with a screwdriver) and sprayed some WD-40 down into the unit. I then released the latch, closed the door, and the door ajar light was off.

So, instead of having to get a new switch, it was merely stuck in the "open" position.

Now that my car no longer thinks the door is open, the interior lights will shut off and it will stop making that fucking annoying noise. That also means my battery won't be drained from the lights being on all the time anymore.

lyncollege and I had to get towed from Cambridge (after ManRay) Friday night because my battery was dead. If I hadn't had the AAA Plus coverage, it would have ended up cositing $250 to tow us home. Instead, it ended up costing me $0. Kickass.

It wasn't a complete disaster, though. lyncollege and I did get to sit in the car and talk and be snuggly and stuff. Yeah, the interior lights were on whilst we were in the car (due to the whole "Hi, I have a phantom door ajar." syndrome thing), but it was okay. ♥

I started up the car and threw it into gear and stepped on the gas. The car wasn't very responsive. I went to climb the driveway and the engine started to make some odd noise I haven't heard yet. I stopped right there, threw it in neutral, and guided the car back down the driveway backward.

First things first, I went to check the oil level. A lot of good the dipstick is doing, since it's showing me I have three times more oil than the "full" marker.

I dropped a napkin down into the car. Stupid me, I reached down for it and the back of my hand brushed up against the engine. Now I have a big burn on the back of my hand. Fuck. It hurts. It'll stop hurting soon. All for a fucking napkin.

So, I'm not really sure what the fuck is wrong with my car now. I'm going to wait until my step-father (the mechanic) gets back to the house and we can diagnose.

Fuck. Hand. Hurting.
