Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard & Linux

Jun 21, 2005 20:31

I have a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard, and while I really, really like it, I've noticed that Linux (meaning the kernel, not the GNU operating system) does not like it.

Every time I boot into a GNU/Linux distribution--even LNX-BBC, which I'm using for computer diagnostics--I get an error code: keyboard: unknown scancode e0 59

I don't know what this means, as I can keep on typing normally, but apparently others have this problem, too: http://stateless.geek.nz/2005/01/20/multimedia-keyboards-and-linux/

While it doesn't seem like I can resolve the error, I can tell the kernel to STFU with dmesg -n 6.
