USDAA and TV people
Contact Point hosted a 3 day USDAA trial this weekend and I think it went well. Kate had her first USDAA judging assignment on Friday for our starters/advanced only trial and did a fantastic job. Her courses were really nice and she really understands how to nest her courses for the least amount of changes between levels and courses. Her judging was really good ( I talked to her supervisor) and hopefully she will be off supervision soon. She scored extremely well on everything at the USDAA judges seminar last spring.
To complicate the day on Friday there was a crew from Animal Planet's new series "Groomer Knox or Beverly Hills Groomer" they're not sure of the title yet. They had called a month ago and asked if they could come out and shoot for the new series. The star of the show is Artist Knox who won the "Groomer Has It" reality show last year. He won a mobile grooming van and I guess they really liked him because he now has his own TV show. He groomed Quiver so he'd look beautiful at the agility trial. He did a very good job on him and we did have a lot of fun shooting. They interviewed a lot of exhibitors and I was on camera quite a bit so it will be fun to see what they use on the show. Quiver was a star for his grooming and looked very handsome when Artist was done with him. The shooting was an all day affair and Artist's son and sister surprised him with a visit to the ranch. They took his son to see the sheep and ducks which was a lot of fun for a bunch of people from South Central L.A. The entire crew went on and on about how beautiful of a location we have at the ranch.
The team tourney went well with Quivers team qualifying (thanks to Megan Miller for running him). After a windy morning on Friday the weather settled down and it was beautiful the rest of the weekend. We got about 5 minutes of rain on Sunday afternoon but it wasn't bad at all and actually helped with the dust. All and all a really nice December weekend.
The puppies got to come down today to visit and they were super friendly to everyone and got a snuggle from lots of people. Nothing bothered them.
