The poster. I hope I get a decent grade! )
Yesh, this is something I've been told about three times now--the foot thing, that is. I'll definitely fix it and do another upload the first chance I get! :)
Yesh, there is deep meaning behind the poster, a lot of thought went into it. Originally, I had a bad grade on my comp layout, and my instructor told me that my message wasn't clear enough. At the time, I was frustrated, but later on I realized that he knew I didn't bring out my full potential and I was going about the poster the wrong way. So I went back to the drawing board, thought up more sketches, and this is what I came up with. He said it worked, so he must be happy with the results! When I think about it, he's actually a pretty good teacher--a bad one would have been satisfied with my other poster, but he knew I could do better, and he pushed me in that direction. I love that, and I'm sure that's also a part of the meaning behind this poster, too--moving forward inspite of obstacles.
There's also a slight gay pride thing involved, since the woman was actually taken from a gay pride stock collection. My original thinking upon finding the stock was kind of a political-ish poster giving a positive glance at the future of the gay rights movement in a very subtle way. I wanted it to be subtle enough that it could apply to pretty much any kind of situation when you have to "dare to be different," so to speak. Hee!
Anyway, a lot of thoughts did indeed go into it. Could probably go on all day. xD
