My laptop is going on five years come August. It still works great (knock on wood)..only trouble is, it lacks the processing speed and power I need for things like video editing, video capture and anything "heavy duty". In fact, my video editor often "hiccups" when I'm creating vids. Time to look for a more powerful machine, but one that won't break the bank. I still plan to use my present laptop as long as she's working..and use a more powerful machine for programs that require...well..more power. ;) I was on the HP site and did some configurations. My first one brought me up to about $1500.00. My latest one (the third) brought me down to just under $800.00. I don't want to have to spend more than a thousand dollars on something, being as I still have this laptop that I plan to use for tasks that require less "heavy lifting". I was wondering what you guys thought of the following specs I came up with:

It's minimalistic as far as adding or upgrading things since I have this laptop. I also didn't have the option to go with a Quad core processor..but that would have probably bumped me up over the thousand mark, anyway.
So...what do you think? You think this is good enough for the price? ($776.47). I'm just doing a search for now, so nothing's concrete just yet.
