1. i really really hate that gwen steffani song "aint no holler back"..what the f*** is that song about? from reading the lyrics, it seems like its about some chick whose trying to stand up for herself against an inconsiderate boyfriend/ guy friend and demonstrate that she is independent and therefore rallying all other girls to join in, recognize their self-worth, and disregard men....ok..THIS THEME HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE! HELLO! with all due respect to the feminist movement, i just think this song is really dumb...i mean, her songs are really not that creative..i mean, lets think about this...theres that one rich girl song (i think thats by her)..i mean, the lyrics to that are not good("i would have all the money in the world if i was a wealthy girl.." something like that)..give me a break! thats not creative..thats redundant and selfish if anything else..i dont know, gwen steffani was better in no doubt...that "no holler back" song has gotten REALLY OLD, REALLY FAST! they play it 5 times a day!
2. the people at blockbuster have really dug themselves a hole..not only have they confused everyone with the basic meaning of the "no late fee" promotion (which in itself is not totally true, because u do have to pay a restocking fee after an extended amount of time), but they have not accomplished anything really significant with the promotion itself...first, they have jacked up the prices of their movies...it now costs around $4 to rent a movie FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME, EVEN ONE NIGHT! What blockbuster used to do was offer you to selections..you could keep a movie overnight for $2 or you could have it for a week between $3-3.50. Now they just do a universal price, and i htink that screws everyoen up...also, if you have a tape for i think the longest allotted time, you eventually have to buy it...another contradiction of this late fee promotion is that on the bottom of your blockbuster receipts ( i had just rented "ray" over the weekend..good flick!), they have some adage that says something like "be nice, return on time"...wait a minute, if they are making such a big deal about there being no late fees, then why are they putting that on their receipts...this no late fee thing is going to encourage people to be lax when returning movies..i dont know, its crazy
3. i really like that "beverly hills" song by weezer..its better than i had anticipated...i also have a new found appreciatoin for "vitamin R" by chevelle..i guess the song kinda grew on me
