I find it hard to believe it is merely a year ago when ah ma was still sprightly and in good health.
In my mind, ah ma has always been a 大小孩. Despite her typical old people nagging, she's perpetually anticipating for us to bring her out, greedy for snacks, prying into everyone's affairs etc. Every time she called, I was impatient and could never wait to get off the phone with her.
I am a fucking asshole, I know.
But how I wish now, she would call me every other day and badger me about mundane stuff.
Within the past few weeks, she had been admitted into the hospital far too many times and getting weaker by the day.
A tumour has been detected near her lung. However, due to her poor health and age, it is impractical to conduct any form of operation on her to obtain tissue samples whatsoever. Thus, all we can do is wait.
Earlier today, I was on my way to granny's and incidentally met my aunties. What was supposed to be a chitchat, before we go our separate ways, became an extremely emotional discussion about ah ma's situation. Haha well, it was kind of amusing in a way that three adults were sniffing and tearing at the train station.
Anyways, all I can say is, the future is rather bleak.
I really hope it's not too late to catch up on the time that has already slipped out of our hands.
