I warn you... it's a bit disturbing. I don't know how a bacteria of all organisms could have developed this sort of ability, but it's frightening...

Disturbing hm? It sounds more like an interesting scientific mystery. Perhaps it's an undiscovered species of bacterium that exists only on this planet.
