I know...

This bacterium has an odd behavioral trait that I cannot quite explain. It seems to be able to mutate multiple specimens simultaneously, regardless of location.

...then, it's likely a single superorganism that we're dealing with, right? Like... like an ant colony, only cruder. Though, I've never heard of the connections between the "individuals" reaching that kind of level... but, then again, it's not really my field of expertise...

...it almost sounds like something out of science fiction, really. Though, considering some of the things I've seen since arriving here, that's... not very surprising.
