Well, hi. I'm Corinne, and this is my blog, obviously. I am assuming that you don't know me too well, but there are likely to be people reading who are going to read this and facepalm. Haha.

So I guess that a description of myself, however brief, is in order. You will learn a lot about me if you continue to read, but I believe that a quick summary is in order under the cut.

Name: Corinne. That's all you're going to hear.
Age: Fourteen at the time of posting, but there may or may not be a post later on around my birthday. Hmm. Well, my birthday is on April 11, if you want to know.
Location: Australia. Somewhere in the eastern states, but nowhere near the coast.

That is a summary of the stuff you might actually need to know. How about some other stuff?

TV: I love NCIS and Bones. I also watch shows such as Rush, Sea Patrol, Medium, Numb3rs, Mythbusters, The Simpsons... but the first two are the only ones that I really am addicted to on a major scale.
Books: I am a book lover, let me get this straight. I especially love the series Warriors by Erin Hunter; it's probably my favourite. [side note: Kate Cary, one of the authors, is on Twitter, and I follow her. She's really nice (=] I also like the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I detest Twilight. It is shit, whereas Harry Potter is *the* shit. There's a difference. That determiner is important! There are also many other books that I can't be bothered listing, but which I am sure will come up in blogs at some stage or another.
Music: Hmm. This is a long list. Delta Goodrem is one of my favourite singers; she is absolutely gorgeous and has a beautiful voice. [side note: I am not, however, one of those crazed fans who watches a show or reads a book just because the object of my fandom likes it.] My favourite band has been - for yeeeaaars - ABBA. Cheesy, yes. Can irritate others, yes. Awesome? YES. Okay... Cyndi Lauper is also very much awesome. [side note: Sisters of Avalon makes me giggle. If you saw the Bones season five premiere, you'll get it.] She & Him are very relaxing to listen to, Lo-Ball are cool, you get the point, there's no correlation in my taste.

You'll figure out the rest by reading. If I sound as if I'm just plugging [side note: is that the right word?] my blog, it's not intentional, but I guess that acknowledging it is not the best or most intelligent thing to do. Oh well.

The reason I've decided to start blogging regularly is because of my writing. Writing is one of my hobbies, and if I don't choose to go into forensics, I will probably try to write books. I'm going to use this to show off some excerpts of my writing, possibly with some commentary. Some of it is fanfiction, some is poetry, some of it is original, some of it is... well, crap that I wrote at lunch time. This will most likely be some of the stuff I've written that I actually like. If you don't get it, don't be surprised.

I think that a small exhibit is in order.

Boredom
Boredom.
What is boredom?
Boredom is when you count the hairs on your left big toe
Or play 'flick the booger' across the just-cleaned lounge room
And chew the windowsill.
Boredom is when you write a list of books to read over the summer
Then pick old school books to make confetti with
And do the lot.
Boredom is when you start a new bad habit
Read back issues of weird magazines
And write like you would at school.
Boredom is rearranging the house like Feng Shui
Or to make it more aesthetically pleasing
And chugging a litre of custard.
Boredom is doing maths as you have nothing better to do
Doing the chores just for fun
And spending 45 minutes on the toilet.
Boredom is thinking of random things to do
Procrastinating or not doing them at all
And writing a poem about doing them
Like I just did.

That was a poem that I wrote a couple of years ago, out of boredom during the holidays. It isn't all true. [side note: I used it in a school assignment for showing off Microsoft Words skills. That looked really bad, it was in that era of computer knowledge where you think that more is better. I now prefer a more simplistic and organised appearance. I believe that this is a sign of maturity.] Although my teacher thought so.

So that's all for now, I guess. Do not be shocked by floods of writing and a drought for months. Sayonara for now and for however long.

poem, writing, introduction, hello
