Much Better :)

I'm definitely not going into work today.  Fuck that!  I'm not that desparate for the money anymore, and thanks to a nice grilled sandwich, a chi-hot choc mix that I'm still drinking, and "other stuff" i'm feeling much better this morning.  I'm still the only one up ( Read more... )

I wondered about that. It's a language from the Slavic branch, if I'm not mistaken.

In case you haven't noticed, there's a heavy influence of Slavic, German, and Russian in the races' languages and cultures.

"Moldovan," also known as Moldavian, is almost the same as Romanian, so it's a Romance language.

Ah, I see now where you know me. Thanks for the link. I'm not sure what Carvis had in mind when he was considering a mole race, but where there are at least two different families (the brown and golden moles) there's room to have two very different species, and that is what I have in mind.

*chuckles* Have you done a search on Bara? There's an actual island called Bara, same as some of the other names. We took an atlas one time when we were searching for names for worlds and cities.

Carvis wants to know if there's something else that you want to use as a name? There's no copyright infringement on place and country names. As far as the actual written languages are concerned, we've made those up. Sure we've used some of the scripts - runes, cuneiform writings, other fonts - however the words have not been from existing languages. Although we have borrowed from the language structures of different cultures to help develop our languages.

Well "Grundig" for the race and "Talcris" for the world is what I currently having in mind. I think Carvis said at one time that these names were given by the Barins and aren't necessarily what that race calls their own world, though looking at some of the names, I wonder where they came from ( ... )

Let's continue this through email. I don't mind you adding my address to your coyotewolfen account. I need to change the email address I have for you anyway.

As for the crest, we thought it was for your character and Carvis took it off the pc so I don't currently have a copy of it. He's got it backed up on a cd but doesn't know which one. If you can email it to me I'd appreciate it.
