Wow, its been awhile!
First off, let me say that if Gencon last year was "educational", the GenCon this year was "Inspirational."
I've been quite busy with several different things including getting myself completely organized using a new system. The book to blame is "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. When initially using the system, it recommends taking at least two days off to go through all your stuff and starting with a clean slate. After I got done laughing at that part, I started working on a schedule to do it in small chunks. The problem with that is that things are a bit of a mess for the time you are going through everything! It's also very time consuming! Regardless, the system IS working for me this time and it has me a bit excited. For instance, I just spent an hour and a half slogging through my gmail account getting everything filed and where it belongs. I worked down a list of 481 emails down to 11. Huzzah!
And so, in keeping with my organizing process, its time for this LJ to undergo a slight overhaul. With it, I need to make an announcement. I've spent a lot of time thinking about the current news stories about folks losing their jobs due to LJ posts, the increasingly public nature of said posts, etc, and I'm afraid I need to make a few changes here. Don't worry, this particular blog is not going down. There will be several public posts made here but I'm afraid I am going with the trend and making most of my posts that are not completely Private, Friends Only. The public posts made here will be more along the lines of professional writing, editorials, observations, op-ed pieces, that sort of thing. Everything else goes behind a screen.. I'm also going through and cleaning up my Friends list.
So, before I close up things here a bit, and if you want to stay on the friends list, send me an email or reply here. I'll get you on the list and we will go from there. I think I will be making the changes in the next day or so. If I don't hear from ya and you are cut off the list, please send an email or reply to a public entry down the road.
