So I saw Hitchhikers at the 12:01am showing at Citiwalk with Sarah. It... Was interesting.
I enjoyed it to be sure, it was just slightly odd watching it on a movie screen.
Acting was decent. The Cast used worked well I think. Arthur was sufficiently average. Ford was nicely paranoid and wierd. Zaphod was VERY flamboyant. VERY. They really played up his personality. Trillian was good. Extremely hot, but not all the time, giving slight realism. And a brunette, as opposed to the ditzy blonde Trillian from the BBC TV Mini-series.
It just felt too short, like the books. In fact it only covered the first book with a lead-in to the second.
On that note, there were various changes and adjustments to the story that almost threw me off kilter.
Now, in many intervies, Adams said that the Book was slightly different from the original Radio Scripts, so he intended to make the movies slightly different from the book.
It was strange at times.
It almost felt as if it were another perception of his book. Like someone did a (rather well) fan-fiction of the book.
Yes. It felt like Douglas Adams did a fan-fic of his own book.
At least there was no slash. :shudder:
In any case. I have to be at work in an hour until 7:30. I want to go see the movie again with friends, but given the tiny amount of sleep I garnered, I don't know if I'll be awake at the end of my shift. So if I'm not, sorry to those who were looking forward to seeing it with me, (read: none). Hopefully I'll get sleep tonight.
