Well well well…right now I am sitting at the San Francisco International Airport instead of being on a plane back to HELLena. Maybe you are wondering why I missed my plane. Honestly, I am too. Ha ha. Seriously…the trouble started at about 11:10 this morning when Megan and I were on the bus on our way to the Muni which would bring me to the airport. I was looking at this guy sitting next me to who was listening to his IPod, so I wondering if my laptop was charged so I could listen to music while I waited at the airport. “Oh shit,” I thought “I don’t have my laptop with me…OR MY BACKPACK!” So I alerted Megan to the situation, we got off the bus, walked back to her dorm, got my backpack, waited for the bus too long, gave up on the bus, got a cab to the Muni station and then Megan left me and I waited for my train. And waited, and waited. Then there is an announcement…the train I need has mechanical problems and will be delayed 30 minutes. Shit shit shit. I picture myself missing my connection in the SLC, sleeping under a telephone booth in Utah and I run up to the street level and catch a cab to the airport. Lucky me, I get the most inept driver ever…he was slow and needed me to give him directions to the airport…can I remind you that I don’t even live in San Francisco. THEN…he didn’t know how to use to credit card machine in his cab so he almost charged me $350 instead of $35. Remember, that I have about 20 minutes to get to my plane. This can driver needed to get kicked in the mouth. So then he asks me to run my credit card in HIS cab machine. Of course, I have no idea how to operate a credit card machine on a cab meter. What the fuck was this guy thinking? So I ended up using an airport ATM to pay to douche bag. Thus, the Muni fiasco and the inept cabbie caused me to miss my flight. So I am just here chilling at the airport for a few hours…I should be home by 10, so it’s really not going to be that bad. Ah…what an adventure.
Meanwhile, THIS WEEKEND WAS AWESOME! Friday night when I got to the city I had to COOLEST shuttle driver…he was old, crazy, adorable, and I am pretty sure that we had little irrational crushes on each other. So I went to Megan’s friends’ house where we had Mexican food and margaritas. Sweet! Then Megan and I went to her dorm to drop off my stuff and then we went to this Irish bar. We told the bouncer we were twins, but basically got in on our good looks. This really drunk guy was giving me kisses at the bar, I was just like “Oop (turn head away)…thanks…Oop…nope…thanks.” We danced and drank and met some fun people. After closing time, we walked back to the dorm, shook off two guys who were too drunk and too lonely. Good times.
Saturday we went shopping on Haught Street, where I got some sweet gear and American Apparel…which might be my new favorite place. Then we went downtown to go shopping more, and Megan and I got matching shoes that are 100% sequins. Noice! Then we went back to the dorm to change, pre-funk and get ready to go out. We went to Tacoeria Cancun with Megan’s friend Kate for dinner and beer in the Mission District. Then we went to this great little bar/ dance club across the street where they have Salsa, Reggae and Hip Hop. This was basically the highlight of the trip.
At first, Me, Megan and Kate were doing it Billy Idol style (dancing with ourselves), then as it started to pick up things got a little more…well…San Francisco. I danced with this guy from Germany for a while. Then, I lost him when I went to the bar. BUT someone else found me. This thugged out guy stated to dance with me. We were kind of chatting while we danced…oh man…He’s all like “Do you dance salsa a lot?” and I’m like “Ha ha…NO.” So he’s says, “Well, you are really good at it.” Oh YEAH RIGHT…he must have been trashed. Wait, this story gets better. He then offered to be my sugar daddy. He was like “When are you coming back to San Francisco? Cause I could fly you out anytime you want.” So then I decided that I needed another drink…to escape Super Fly and also after that I think anyone would need a drink….so funny…I just LOVE this story. So while I’m at the bar there is this hardcore Rasta guy there who helped me shake off Super Fly, gave me some good drink advice and rocked it on the dance floor with me too. Soon Germany (I never learned his name, but he knew mine) found me again. This guy was wicked fun! We definitely had a good time together…oh my. He wanted to after party, but it ended up that I had to be a tease. Big sis was defiantly proud of me, but nobody thought it was a good idea to go home with some guy. At last call we split and had the coolest cab driver back to the dorm. This was one of the best nights away from school I can remember! College girls are easy.
Then yesterday Megan and I went out into the city again. We went to this coffee place she always goes to for brunch with some of her friends. All of Megs friends who I met for the first time commented on how we are the same person…which makes me think that Megan must be pretty awesome. Just kidding. Anyway, Megs friend Ryan (who is like her guy BFF) is awesome, and just the kind of rational witty guy that us Owens’ girls need to keep us in line. Then we went to Chinatown and to the Fisherman’s Wharf for beers and a bread bowl. Then we went back to the Haught to go to this hooker store. When you see people/cross dressers in flamboyant clothes and wonder where they got that stuff, it was this store. We got some $2 earring and I got the sweetest sunglasses ever. Then we went to Amoeba music for a while. We went to dinner at Nan and Curry for some Indian food. Then we went to chill at this bar with some people in the Mission. I defiantly got the most drunk…which is always better than being the most sober. Megan and I had to ride to bus back from the Mission. While we were waiting in the rain at night, I had my P-I-M-P sunglasses on and this awesome sassy guy walks by, checks me out and says, “It’s super sunny!” in his best Latino Mission voice. PRICELESS!
Today was the whole travel escapade. I was really not excited to go back to real life this morning. But now I am finally in the SLC (Salt Lake City) and glad to be getting home to my crew. I’m glad that I have such good stories for them!
Ok, I am writing this entry in stages today. Now I am in Helena and pooped out. Kimmy, Katie, Crystine, John, Mike and Zaxle Rose came to pick me up and we made a scene at the airport…good times. Now I am going to pass out. This week is going to be hard and lame, but Spring Break is coming up real soon!! YESS!
