Recently, I've found myself in situations where I deem a comment or statement to be relating to something sexual, but it is clear that no one else in the room sees it that way. For example:
I was at Gord's lab christmas party last week, his supervisor has this very giant wine cork removal device that is really just one big piece of plastic with a grip part and then two longer, more slender parts coming off of it. It's the easiest way to get the cork out, i swear. Anyway, I made a bit of a big deal about it, then J.C. [the supervisor] got me to open the next bottle and it was a bit of a presentation. When asked the name of this device, he responded: "the rabbit"!!! I shot a look around the room, waiting for anyone else to have thought first of the most famous vibrator in the world.. but no. everyone was just pleased and smiling and interested in the wine opener.
Then at work. Two people were talking about 'prison break' i think. about the character "t-bag". oh man. and they were talking about how 't-bag' got on his [some other character] face. oh man. i started laughing. and blank faces all around the room.
C'MON PEOPLE!!
