Went to practice yesterday night, The guitar players actually bitched about the gig. They were like,"Did you hear those bands we are opening for?" I said yes I did, what is the problem? They didn't like them and thought they sucked ass. I was like you know it doesn't matter if you like them or not, it is a national act coming thru we are opening for. This will help us in the long run. Both don't seem to believe me on these points. I really don't care for their attitude. I was pushing the fact that we need to play as many shows as possible, and promote ourselves better. I will go round and round with them on this point. You gotta have a good business plan or you will never get the good gigs or further your band's career. We just have a difference of opinion. I'm okay about it now, I was pissed last night. I told them you get the gigs next time and let me belittle your decision. It is more likely the fact I didn't crawl up their ass for the gig. If the bands we do shows with aren't "metal" enough they don't want to do them. I want to play to a more diverse crowd to get us out of the local "metal" scene. I don't want to be stuck in a musical rut with these other local "Metal" bands. Some of these guys have been playing in this scene for over Ten years. There is something wrong with the band if they can't go beyond the "local" scene. Enough ranting I'm done. Later, Coydog72.
