Today was fun, spent the day vegging, went to Borders to pick up a Mother's Day gift for Barry's mom (snagged some good, inexpensive, classical CD's too!), and went to dinner with his parents...we went to this cafe in Fort Tryon Park, near The Cloisters...it was such a beautiful place and the food was pretty damn good...plus Barry's parents are always a blast...went back to their house to set up a cappuccino machine (his mom's gift) and played with the meow-meows (despite the fact that I hadn't taken any allergy pills and I suffered for it later)...all in all a good day...called my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day as well...I plan on seeing her and giving her her gift tomorrow...got another paper due this week, which makes me sad...I hate the paper-writing process but at least it's getting towards the end of it all...I saw something on WitchVox about an art show that took place in San Francisco to raise money for the West Memphis Three...it's good to know that there's people out there that are still fighting for these guys...for those who don't know what I'm talking about, the WM3 are three young men who were arrested about a decade ago for the murder of three grammar school-age boys...the three accused were targeted for being a couple of outcast, goth-type kids and one of them (Damien Echols, on Death Row) was targeted for being a Wiccan, which the ignorant law enforcement people in West Memphis, Arkansas equated with satanism...therefore they assumed that Echols (the supposed ringleader) and his two friends were the ones responsible...the three were convicted on account of a coerced confession from one of the accused, who was a minor, did not have a lawyer or legal guardian present at the time, and was severely developmentally challenged...the whole case is fucking ridiculous and I'd love to get my hands on it once the state declares me a "forensic expert" (even though it shouldn't take an expert to see that this case is complete bullshit)...anyone who may be interested in this case should read the book that was written on it, "The Devil's Knot: The Story of the West memphis Three"...the author actually does a pretty good job of being impartial and giving the story to you staright, which is nice...the boys were no angels, thats for sure but I seriously do not think they are murderers either, and being Wiccan sure as hell has nothing to fucking do with it...they should burn Echols at the stake while they're at it...okay, enough ranting...Jezibell's having a full-moon circle this week and I want to go but I don't think I'll be able to make it...I was under the impression that classes were over this week but they're not unfortunately...my Thursday night class will be meeting this week after all (we weren't supposed to but the professor thought it would be a good idea to since he's cancelled a few classes during the course of the semester)...I'll have to call Joe and let him know...graduation is quickly approaching...still not sure how I feel about that...but I do know that there are several things that I want to accomplish this summer...I plan on starting up my piano lessons again, getting back into horseback riding, learning archery (I know it sounds weird but I've always wanted to learn how to!), and hopefully learning how to tune organs, if Barry's dad is still willing to teach me...any time spent with musical instruments is good, in my opinion...I have to start planning Lauren's shower and stuff soon....Christina's shower is next weekend and I still haven't gotten her a gift...I went to the mall with my mom on Saturday in hopes of getting her something but the place was so packed that all I wanted to do was run out of there as quickly as possible...I'll have to get her something this week...my sweetie will be in Las Vegas for a few days this week for a friends bachelor party, which is sorta sucky...I mean, taking a vacation is always a good thing but I'd rather have him here with me...oh well, as long as some harmless fun is had by all, I guess it's all good...I can't wait for Ren Fair, I didn't go last year and I miss it...it's so much fun, despite the fact that you end up sweating your ass off all day...it's a good excuse to dress up in costume and speak with a British accent all day...I should try to get a whole big bunch of people together to go this year, it's always more fun with a big group...plus they give you discounts that way...I have to start thinking of a good Halloween costume too...it's May, it's just about time for me to start planning for Halloween :-)...Halloween this year will be sorta hectic though, being that Lauren's wedding is like two days before...oh well...I wish I was in Salem right now...okay, I think I've rambled enough for one evening...bye-bye!
