So I just realized that I read my itinerary wrong and missed my return bus. Shit. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it yet. For now, I am going to post the first (and maybe last, depending on how I feel on the way back) trip journal.

Day One

11 am - Vancouver, British Columbia - take cab to ferry. Cab driver gets call from wife's doctor. Cab driver's wife's test results were concerning. Entire cab ride driver makes calls to family about how he has to take his wife to the hosiptal, often in tears.

5 pm - USA-Canada Border - American Border Guard is very stereotypical American. He thinks its ridiculous/funny that I am going to San Diego for one day.

5:45 pm - Bellingham, Washington - Do Canadian debit cars work in American ATMs? Apparently not. (note: discovered later that they do, just not when you have ISF). Reciept says "Thank you for patronizing Bellingham Station"

5:50 pm -  Most. White Trash. Couple. Ever. Sits behind me in the bus. American accent, high as hell, singing bad country, black eyes"
"Pussy, pussy, PuSsy, PUSSY. That's right I said it out loud"
-note: family of small children in next seat
"You want to eat out my WHAT?"

7:15 pm - Everrett, Washington - Kid keeps pushing her little sister into my lap. The way she is pushing (by hip thrusting) gives the overall impression of anal sex. Very Awkward,

7:41 pm - Everett-Seattle - I feel like I am in a bad rap video, dawg. Shit my bus leaves Seattle in 30 minutes, we're not there yet and I was supposed to have an hour lay-over

7:44 pm - Holy shit the space needle.

8 pm - Seattle is sketch and kind of ugly by night - at least from the bus route/depot

11:30 pm - Portland, Oregon - Portland is very pretty, at least by night. Station isn't sketch at all. Cool guy and I laughed at weird guy on cell phone telling person on the lne to pay their rent because doing so "avoids that kind of problem"

11:30 pm- 4:30 am - Portland - Rosedale, California - Old guy sits next to me. Talk about everything. Iraq, University etc. He spent 33 years in the Navy

Day 2

4:30 - ________ - Rosedale - __________ - Two seats to myself!!! I get to lie down!

____________ - ________ - Damn. Little 12 year old girl is now beside me.

Central Point, California - Holy fucking Jesus, Northern California is fridgid. *mental note* hopefuly I'm still in the Mountains

8:35 am - Weed, California - Ha ha

9:35 am - Weed to Redding - There are far more important things in this world, at this time of year than this. We are a family and we have a choice. We can either stay stuck in the past and lose what we have, or offer each other forgiveness and move forward. The fact is that no one in this situation, for the whole two months, meant to hurt anyone. Yes, it happened. It happened to all of us. We can either choose to attack each other, or force ourselves to love and forgive one another. If 100 strangers can get along and almost feel like a family over the course of a few hours, why can't we. With all our history, why can't we stay together through rough times? Think of what we have. Is it worth losing because of a grudge?

Sacramento - Fresno, California - I HATE $1 BILLS. Get with the times USA. Caramel Apple Cider from Starbucks is really fucking good.

3 am - San Diego, California - Shit the Hostel is closed. Change of plans

3:30 am - found new hostel, yay sleep

8:45 am - ha ha, I suck at making pancakes

current: shit that's my ARRIVAL time to Los Angeles, not my departure time from San Diego.

I'm going to go to the greyhound station to try and find my way home. Why do I always fuck up on big trips? At least I'll get more time in San Diego - hopefully not indefnately.

Peace out
