well here it is...

and so begins a new year. it sure feels the same as last year. it's even beginning in a similar fashion in regards to my personal life. i won't bore you with the details but let it be known that i'm a very similar point in my life.

a year in review, wouldn't that be nice. a wonderful cliche that never fails to amuse. who wouldn't appreciate a look back on things we've forgotten? nobody, that's who. i began this entry feeling obligated to do so. a moment later, inspiration had hit and, just as quickly, vanished. i feel the urge to begin the new year the same way i've lived the previous 20, procrastinating.

so now that i'm no longer analysing two-thousand-five, i thought i might make a few preliminary resolutions. i don't usually write down my resolutions because vince vaughn once said, "I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. And I gotta tell ya... it feels phenomenal." now i know what you're thinking, i don't do everything vince vaughn says. well the point is, i'm going to try writing them down this year. this would mean that i need to put significantly more thought into my resolutions. at least enough to come up with something better than work harder in school. noble (and useful) as it may be, it's vague and i never take it very seriously.

my resolutions will be collected over the next week and then written down in an email. not any ordinary email though, futureMail. i've used this service once before when i made a list of tasks i wanted accomplished before entering my 20-somethings. now i can't tell you if it's reliable (i don't see why it wouldn't be) because it's not due to be received until the day after my birthday. i can tell you that, although i remember surprisingly little of the contents of the list, i do remember that less than half are currently achievable. so i guess it's useful in that sense because resolutions are hardly ever kept.

i plan on reviving my website shortly and the first entry is scheduled to be a list of resolutions followed by a year in review entry. in fact, here's a preview: resolution #1: restore my website to its former glory and work to keep it on the cutting edge of lamedom.

and now, something to look forward to: i will recount previous new year's eve celebrations, including tonight's. tomorrow on an all new cow's opinion, same jing time, same jing channel...
