books are sexy

you can say i'm hopping the band wagon but i don't care. dan brown is a marvelous author. i've recently read angels and demons, the da vinci code, and deception point. they're all good. i read the first in 2 days and the second in one sitting. then i was at chapters the other day and they were having a sale so i bought deception point and digital fortress along with the princess bride by william goldman (because i love the movie) and the romanov prophecy by steve berry. i've rediscovered the joys of reading for pleasure. i used to read a lot when i was a kid, back in elementary school. i used to drag my mom to all the libraries around town so i can get books to read during the summer. oh to be young again.

in other news, my friends and i saw mr. and mrs. smith last night. it was pretty much everything i expected it to be. hilarious and fun among other things...like various types of explosions. it's true what the critics say, if jerry bruckheimer were ever to make a romantic comedy, this would've been it. also, if it were anyone other than brad pitt and angelina jolie, this movie would've been 2 hours of explosions, bullets, and lame one-liners. the pitt-jolie on-screen chemistr-y is so good that i can actually believe that they were 2 hired assassins married to each other in real life. it's so good that they i still thought they could actually be married in real life when they were trying to portray a failed marriage. now that's something to admire. 4.5/5
