This weekend was pretty awesome. Yesterday I spent the whole day cleaning, grading papers, getting ready for placement, studying for my praxis exam, etc. Kevin and I went for a sweet walk around the perimeter of the high school. Today we went for a 6 mile bike ride at this park in Salmon Creek where we saw A LOT of old people. Some were nice, some glared at our youthful ways. Later we went to Starbucks and used a combination of old gift cards to get some frappachinos. After a healthy afternoon cat nap, we went to the elementary school across the street and played catch. I'm a wee bit sun-burned, but nothing some aloe hasn't already fixed. It's just been a really nice, relaxing weekend. I love sunny days.
And with those lovely sentiments comes a bit of sadness. With season finales happening all over the place what the crap am I supposed to do with my evenings at 8 PM?! Amazing Race is over, Survivor is done tonite, ANTM is finished, and Gossip Girl and NCIS are done this week. I'm either in need of the next two seasons of Stargate Atlantis to add to our collection (currently quite expensive) or some really good books from the library. I'm thinking that the last option will be the most likely. Any suggestions out there?
PS. After giving the entire Twilight series a chance (twice) I am still struck with the impression that the main character is whiny and weak. How could such a character be so loved by the masses? Oh, that's right, because the masses are idiots.
