My motivation has sort of picked up a bit. Even though it will take some time to wear down the "Slug" label I have give myself lately, I did some walking and thinking again. Actually it started out just wanting to get away from everyone. Not being antisocial, just anti-them at that moment. I have not posted much in a while, but there has been friction between my parents (who are divorced) and not to complain about my mother, who is a super nice person, she has made it hard on me by in her own way, trying to have me choose sides. It is not really overt... and I probably should just sit her down and tell her what I think is going on, but I honestly when in slug mode, it does not happen. Now with some medical shit going on, I turn to my dad for feedback as he has been so involved with my care and learning about everything. So the tug between my mom and dad (more my mom) started up. No biggie. I just don't want to launch out of slugdom in some argument that I am not really a part of.

So family politics aside, the ranch is growing again after months of a reducing herd and drought. It was a bit of luck my uncle started cutting back the herd before the economy tanked because we ran into a really bad drought which dried up several of the "tanks" or ponds. One of the tanks several cows got stuck in the mud attempting to reach water and were killed by coyotes or some large cats. it was wild to see the carcasses partly covered in hide and seemingly still standing. Should have taken some pics of that, it really was interesting. Now the tanks have water and some are getting close to capacity. We have had rain, sleet and some snow as well. The cold weather has damaged some of the early blooming wild plants, but it really dinged the garden which we attempted to cover, but it was too cold to do any good.

I have not picked up a book in a while. Probably should. Lots of shoulds going on when in slug mode. Yeah, I even stopped being skinny and so...

It is super windy outside right now. I am looking out over some trees and watching the wind push them to the right, and then the tree springs back and then shudders a bit. Most of the trees are bare, except for the "Live Oaks" which keep their leaves year round. I am a big fan of trees.

Peace.
