I loved it, though, especially the spellings. OMG and the stuffy talk. And Dean taking charge of both situations. And oh man, this part: “heh… Deand… deed a ti-hh… tiss-“
Love the description of the walk to the gravesite, too. Beautiful wording. And the bouncing flashlight beam. Seriously, this is beautiful. I love it. SO MUCH. Proper feedback when I can see straight.

I'm glad you liked the spellings. They're a little different from my normal Sam sneezes, but for some reason I was really into the kinds of sneezes where one comes right after the other so it's like multiple sneezes in one breath, and I tried to do that.
Thanks so much for the feedback! Hope you got some proper rest, too.

The conversation in the car...where Sam says that he thinks he caught something...omg...BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON. It just...YESSSssss!
I also loved the description of their walk to the grave - the cicadas, the flashlights crisscrossing on the path, so vivid.
And the word "achy". I think that's one of my new favorite words.
Perfect fill, perfect timing, so thank you!!!

Glad you liked the forest description. I guess it really did help when I went out to a park to write this fic. It was such a nice day, and I just needed a place to concentrate, and I guess it made its way in there.
"Achy" is a nice word. I'm quite fond of "desperate" and "breathless", myself.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I love how actually, the way the prompt is, Dean could have come over as a total asshole, but you make it absolutely work for their characters.
I feel like maybe Dean is a little dismissive because he doesn't WANT Sam to be sick (maybe if he doesn't acknowledge it, it won't be true), and of course irritated-pissy-Sam is always brilliant, and you capture him perfectly. AAAAND then when Dean actually cottons on he's SO lovely. Its great that he barely says anything - it's all in the actions, getting Sam to sit down while he digs, carrying the stuff back to the car, getting him the tissues... So sweet!
