After a big ol' fight, Sam & Dean split up and both get cursed. When they (inevitably) reunite, one is mute and the other deaf. Breaking the curses will take both of them working together, naturally. Good luck, boys...

Dean is thrilled about being able to settle down in a suburb somewhere. Seriously thrilled. We're talking already picking out curtains before the ink is dry on the contract.

The somewhere they end up in makes Sam sneeze miserably. The rooms are too dusty. He’s allergic to some trees in the neighborhood. Don’t even get me started on the first time the lawn is mowed.

One of the Winchesters has his very first cold since they gave up actively hunting and settled down. The sufferer tries to cope the way he's used to doing when on the road. It takes him/them a while to finally realize he CAN call in sick to work and CAN take the super-drowsy versions of meds, etc.

They stumbled along the hallway to Sam's room and Dean had cleared all of the papers and clean clothes off of his bed for him. Sam sunk down to the mattress and it gave a little beneath him. He didn't have a memory foam thingy like Dean did, but the mattress topper made a huge difference. That had been one of Dean's better ideas ( ... )
