Also, RIP Johnny Cash.
My bus didn't come for me this morning. Everyone thinks I'm still three days, but I'm five.
So I went back home, because my mom was going in to school any way.
I got to school, a lot of people (well, kind of) were at the library. I hung out and made my chunky soup.
It was freakin' hot. I was planning to ride to the memorial with Dylan, but I decided to go with Donald in the yellow van instead. Rosemary, Pat, and Willem came in the van too. We stopped at a bakery so Donald and I could get desserts to bring. Pat kept getting us slightly lost. We asked some woman directions, and then later we asked a FedEx guy. We turned around at Great Valley Middle School, and Donald said "Oh, that's right! I'm a school bus!" Finally we arrived. There were enough cars there to fill a parking garage. Jeremy was by the front door, he greeted everyone with hugs. I was really glad I came, because Jeremy seemed happy that I did. We went inside for a minute, Ivy, Sean, Josh, Dylan, Elyse were there already. I went outside and back in a couple of times before finally getting a plate and eating. Nate was collecting Tabs from soda cans and putting them in a soda can. Josh and I were just about to go look at the pictures of Fritter when they took them away and said the service was going to happen. Then they delayed it because some of Fritter's relatives had gone to the site of the crash. So I sat down with Amy and Anita, and we talked to one of the cousins, he had graduated with Kim in '79. He told us about the Nike site. It was two buildings a city of underground tunnels. It was an abandoned Government Missile facility. He said that a government agent actually gave them a tour of the tunnels, and they just had tons of desks and old war papers and things. Then the service started. Everyone stood/sat in a circle. Not a half assed circle, a circle! It started with a moment of silence, Jeremy read something his dad had written, Matt read a letter sent to them by someone who used to live with them 5 days a week. People sang songs, and talked about Fritter. Tina (the Tina.) was there. She said something about fritter. After the service ended, people talked a bit and had desert. I said goodbye to Jer. He said the last conversation he and his dad had was about the classes he was teaching. Then Rosemary got directions, and we headed back to school. It was a good day. Bittersweet. But good.
