i missed my livejournal. i still haven't written about the henderson show, but i will.
my good computer stopped working again - different problem this time, i'll figure it out.
this week was pretty good. tuesday, my birthday was spent at school, for the regular day and then hiring committee til 9. that was... interesting. there was even stadium grille / "upa-urban-legend" time. still somehow more enjoyable than
my last birthday.
wednesday i am pretty sure i spent at home. thursday was a great day at school though. molly mcclure sex ed day again. it was just as enjoyable as every other time she's come to school. then the potluck in honor of it being genya and goki's last day. i made sure to get genya's address down, and i'm sure there's myspace.
devin dropped rita and myself at malvern station around 3. while waiting for the train we saw eric kirk. we talked about school, and i realized that was more than we ever talked while he went there. after getting on the train and walking towards the next car, someone yelled "rita!" we turned to see bobby freedom. rita went into the next car to try and catch
jack, while i stayed and talked with freedom.
stef picked me up, we went to her house and chilled out - with alex, emily, katie, andrew and joe. we picked up jess, too. after a while we went to wawa, where we had to wait for both emily's mom to pick her up and the car to cool down. after a few stressful moments, we set off for pietro for my birthday dinner. my parents were generous enough to give me $160 to pay, agreeing that we could split between us the remaining cost.
pietro was a very nice italian place - i had chosen italian earlier when given the choice over chinese. the service was a bit slow. i had rigatoni alla vodka, and that was great. they sang to me, apparently nancy was the one who tipped them off.
mike drove us back to stef's. en route we had a close encounter with some jackass in white car but every thing was cool. then it was sleep time.
the next day i took the train to paoli and rode the van to school. dan took a while to arrive, so i did light B&G stuff until then (started to gear up for the "gym binder.") after dan arrived we spent most of the afternoon setting up. everyone was pretty helpful, especially jesse for pointing out the old stage and tom serving as "gym floor consultant." i painted a banner.
the show was great - it took a while to get on the road, thanks to the meaningless 60s. but stevadelic was pretty good. my sister came and got to see mother mallard as well as meat rainbow. MM was really great, and i projected a strip about cavemen during saxophone. i thought meat rainbow played well.. don't remember the setlist in order, but we started little pedal and broke into aqua green sweater. RSP was fine, but we had sound problems at the beginning of their set. I found that i wasn't as much in the mood for them as i usually am. Allee and Ricky came and saw the MR set! i was really happy. poor cricket joe got the lights turned up on him because the staff wanted to go home, understandably. we shoved stuff in the middle school and left.
there was a brief exton dinner visit with jew jokes a plenty, directed at me from freedom, dan and willem. taylor and barb were witnesses as well. [i had a bagel with creamed cheese.] that was the night. dan told me he expects me to do it again next year - i think we should.
