[He's lying on his bed with Yorick draped half over him. It's nearly the dead of summer, but he's lit a fire anyway, and he's staring at the ceiling, idly scratching at the puppy's ears--waiting, just waiting for Jack to come back.]
[When Jack enters, he doesn't say anything. He merely goes to sit next to Sirius, leaning lightly against him. After a moment, he threads his fingers through his hair.]
[He doesn't shift any closer, but nor does he pull away. He stares at the ceiling in silence for a few minutes longer--and then, abruptly, barks a laugh.]
Yeah. I know. I mean-- [He rubs his forehead, scowling faintly.] In general. I should have been clearer, I should have-- it's all different, in retrospect. You know.
