Summer Plans

Feb 06, 2006 10:40

System of a Down is touring this summer and I'm going to get a decent group of people together to go. Lemme know if you'd be interested. I'm also looking forward to working 20 hours a week instead of 4.5... and if I get a second job, who knows, maybe I'll be pushing forty. Also wanna go to Cedar Point(or should I say, have to go). And I'm bound ( Read more... )

I ran a quick check on System and couldn't find any Summer dates. But, if they do tour this summer... I'll think about it. I'd like to purchase their albums in advance to be able to recognize their material in concert. But, gimme a date sometime in the future and I'll see if I can make it. I want to at least hit Waterford once more to sell/trade a bunch of my Magic Cards to that one shop.

Cedar Point sounds fun. It's gotta be a two-day'er though. Make that +1 thing I'm saving up cash for.

I spent Superbowl Sunday with Joe and Lindsey. I didn't like the half-time m'self. I felt the Rolling Stones' performance was lacking. Was it me, or did Mick Jagger forget the lyrics to "Start Me Up"?

Memento's a very good movie... but it may as well be the first and last time you see it anyway, heh. The movie loses an important sense of confusion and suspense when watched a second time. Still great, though! I'm glad the director got a hold of the Batman series.

I finished my Megadeth collection, if I haven't already told you. I now own all of their albums, having bought Killing is My Business. Even their debut album has some excellent songs! It's super short though... It's close to half an hour sans the bonus material (censored cover of "These Boots" and "demo" versions of songs already on the album).

Summer's still far away. I don't have any plans yet, and I'm welcome to make some.

There aren't any official tour dates set, but the band has already released to the press their plans for another U.S. tour in summer 2006. After that, Daron(main songwriter, lead guitar and half of the vocals) is going to start work on a new side project called Scars on Broadway while the rest of the members take a vacation. If you don't want to shell out the cash to buy their five albums, I could burn you some or all of them. I've looked at song listings from some recent concerts, and they do a good job of blending the old and new.

Cedar Point isn't even something to consider any more; it's a ritual.

Hahah, well you see, at my Aunt's house there were about twenty-odd people, at any given moment about half of which were talking, so no one could really hear most of the game commentary or the halftime show. That in mind, maybe I should rephrase the original statement to "the halftime show looked better than previous years".

Congrats on the Megadeth collection.

Summer plans seem to be forcing themselves onto me, I find myself already trying to work out schedule conflicts. I'm trying to just look at things in the present. Gets hard sometimes.
