Fashionable late 9/11 post

9/11 is a date that everyone should remember, because it shows how vulnerable we can be. You might be saying "Oh, that will never happen to me." But you're wrong, because we Americans said so too.

When it happened, me and mom were in the middle of a lesson when my grandma called to tell us to turn on the TV. Both of us sat in shock as we saw clips of the Trade Center. As soon as it sank in, we had hurried to call my dad who was working out of state.(Thankfully, he was in Arkansas or something like that.) It took us a while to get in touch and we were scared that he wouldn't be able to make it home through the traffic. He did but alot of other parents didn't. My Mom lost a good friend on that day too, becuase he was one of the firefighters there. I know that my whole family was scared becuase we lived in Houston and there was talk of there being attacks on other big cities.

So I'm shocked that someone could belittle that day. I'm stunned that someone could not even say "thanks to the brave men and women who went in to save others." To me, that could be almost heresy. One should never belittle a tragic event that happen to anyone in the world. But with the mindset that you have, Kefer, we should all shut up about WWII or the Civil rights movement. After all, we weren't a part of it. We know what happen back then so why do we need to remind ourselves of it?

We need to remind ourselves of it to prove that a tragic event can be turned into a stepping stone for better lives everywhere. Because, thanks to Post-9/11 efforts between England and America, England is not having to mourn the dead. Thanks to the Civil Rights movement, blacks can hold any job position or go to any school that they want. Thanks to WWII, we were able to stop the horror before Hitler finished his goal.

So the next time you want to belittle something, think about it first. Becuase, Kefer, you have hurt alot of your friends because you didn't think, me included. You might not understand it, but don't belittle it because we choose to remeber that date. I just hope that you'll never have to remeber a date like that, when you turn on the TV and watch in shock as you watch hundreds of lives killed in an insant and KNOW that those are your countrymen.

Go ahead and unfriend me if you want, Kefer, because right now, I'm not real sure I want to be friends with you. After all, music is much more important then the fact that so many lost their lives only five years ago on that date.
