So Friday after work I went with Andrew & Chris to a Buddhist Temple to Meditate. This was my first time going. The first thing I thought about when being asked to go were the temples shown in Kung Fu movies and Mortal Kombat. This temple is in Bensalem nonetheless. It was everything I imagined it would be. Buddhist Chants (with some "ooOoOOOhm's" thrown in), Statues, other monks, and relaxation. In no way do I support any organized religions, or fall into a denomination of any kind, but I will say the buddhist faith does have some good virtues, as I'm sure other ones do when they're not asking for money or brainwashing the masses. This wasn't a pressured situation either. Just a buddhist monk bowing to some statue doing his chant to bring peace and prosperity to the people of the world, and then some meditation for an hour. No feeling bad about yourself, no 10 laws to obide by, no book to refer to, just "hey...relax." That's a mantra a lot of people should adopt.
After that, everyone headed to Jason's for a little get together. Some booze, food, and Carl Sagan's "Cosmo's" DVD set. Issues discussed by Mr. Sagan? Time Travel, How the brain functions, and the Impending Super Nova of our sun. Good stuff.
