independence day, andalusia, and "whatnot"

I really, truly like Andalusia. But gosh, it feels good to be home.

I like his family...even Andrew has his cool moments (like when he found a torch and decided to light random things on fire...yay for pyros!). As for what went down this weekend, here are some of the highlights, as I'm too tired and lazy to type everything out...
*swimming in Blue Lake
*Andrew's pyro moments
*listening to a future American Idol (a random construction worker)
*Indigo Creek
*a nice fireworks display
*learning how to play Goldeneye
*our "faux prom" last night (no shoes allowed, blue jeans required)

I had a blast.

This afternoon, on my way home, Lauren called me. She was leaving Troy and had gotten all the way to Sylacauga when she decided to turn around and go back. She really wanted to work things out with Andy, her long-distance (for the summer anyway, she'll be back in Troy in the fall) boyfriend. I'm praying for her.

I didn't have time to rest when I got home; I picked up Richard and went straight to the pool. We had a blast with Kathleen and her family - talking, swimming, eating ribs, and whatnot. (It was the Fourth of July get-together a day late...a tradition between both of our families.) Matthew (Kat's brother, and a good friend of mine) saw me and gave me a big hug, but his current girlfriend wasn't thrilled about that, so I wasn't able to talk to him very much. Other than that, I had a wonderful afternoon/evening. Kat and I also made plans to get together some more this week...I just love the fact that we're hanging out again so much. This is wonderful!
