Okay, so I feel the need to post some music for y'all, so without further delay, I give you *drumroll*
Happy Feel Good Songs of Joy and Bubbles and SPARKLES:
The Hold Stead- Certain Songs: I had one of their songs for months, but hadn't listened to anything else until I was in Elsie's boyfriends car....They just kick ass. I love the lead singer's voice. It just grows on you. I want him to just come over and get shit faced and then we can just lounge about singing in crackly voices. *nods* Especially this song...it feels classic and timeless just like the songs it describes.
Feist- Tout Doucement: There is nothing more sparkly than a song with a key change...except for Feist singing a song with a key change in French!
The Hold Stead- Don't Let Me Explode: I don't get how these guys can have so many different sounds, but I love it. This just feels like a 50's slow dance but then with his voice is just so NOT, and then they break out into rock and I want to jump around...but then the piano comes back.... I can't even tell you, just give it a listen.
The Pale Pacific- Movin' Out: Because this song kicks ass, The Pale kicks ass, and together they make one super ass kicking macchine...or something like that. lol.
The Hold Stead-Hornets!Hornets! : lol..if you couldn't tell, I'm really digging these guys right now. This song is just sexy...in that sloppy drunk kind of way...it makes you feel a little wild and reckless and slutty, but it doesn't matter, cause you're just having a good time with friends.... or maybe thats just me?
The Heavy Blinkers- Try Tellin That to My Baby: SO CUTE! Its like an oldie. I hear it and feel like I'm in a 70's movie walking through some downtown park or something...lol....like in that John Travolta 70's dancing movie...but not the Saturday Night Fever One. Does that makes sense? Whatever...its cute! TAKE IT!
Sondre Lerche- (I Wanna) Call It Love: God, I love this man (although not as much as
honeyb700)! This is my favorite song off of his album "Duper Sessions," a kick ass collection of original jazzy songs. Its pure love.
Regina Specktor- Baby Jesus: First, sorry for the bad quality, she only plays this live and I've yet to find a good recording. STILL....this song is adorable. If I haven't convinced you yet that this woman is GENUIS, this bonus track just might! ITS SO....HER! All SHINY and QUIRKY and *flappy hands* I just....LOVE HER!!!
and some SUPER DUPER SHINY SPARKLY CRACKISHLY WONDERFUL SONGS!!!!
Queen- Killer Queen: Guitar Hero? Okay, so I suck...but still. lol. Anyways...This goes out to you, Elsie and Bert!
Robbie Williams- Rock DJ: Creepy music video, crazy catch song. This is like my guilty pleasure song. I just can't NOT love it.
There, now I feel useful. lol. Let me know what you guys think or if you want more of any body's stuff!
That said, my roomie needs to get home so we can open the wine and BOOGIE to CELEBRATE!!!!!
