I saw The Longest Yard today.
It was at the urging of my family, and I figured it would be better to see that than to see the Star Wars movie. (I'm not bashing Star Wars, I just hate to watch movie sequels/prequels/whatevers without seeing the original movie. It's my mathematical mind. I have to do everything in order. Slightly annoying quality I have.)
I know The Longest Yard was a remake, but it doesn't apply to remakes...
Gene Shallit (legendary movie critic) tore the movie apart, so I had pretty much decided not to see it. But I went, and...it wasn't the worst movie. It was pretty entertaining, actually. I think I would watch it again. But if you go see this movie, you have to like football. It actually made me stop being annoyed by Adam Sandler. He was decent in the movie. Not a bad football player. (Or maybe it was a double...)
Anyway, I really feel like writing the script for the short movie right now. I'm in a writing mood. But I have no idea where to start. And even if I did, I can't just start writing, by myself, without any consultation.
I was watching this thing about trains on the Travel channel yesterday, and I saw Alaska! It has beautiful scenery. So do Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Louisiana just has wetlands. Ugghh.
I'm in a Louisiana-bashing mood, also.
I just spent 20 minutes replaying the scene from the Family Guy premiere episode that mimics North by Northwest. It's sooo hilarious. I heart Family Guy.
I have to study for ACT, apply for scholarships, and clean up my room! I'm also volunteering at the Food Bank on Saturday. I need to get those 40 hours!! Wish me luck.
I played Halo for 3 hours last night. I suck at it, but it really is addictive. Once you start anyway.
I'm putting myself through a mini-Friends marathon! I'm actually watching the 150 episodes of Friends I bothered to tape 3 years ago.
...It's fun...
*"I've got a job, a secretary, a mother, two ex-wives and several bartenders that depend upon me, and I don't intend to disappoint them all by getting myself 'slightly' killed."
-- Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant), North by Northwest (1959)*
I LOVE that quote!
