Today I'm picking 7 5, because those are the ones I listed earlier (and which i can show parts of).
1) The door protested with a jarring squeal of metal, but after a moment of fumbling and fighting Claudia was free to tumble out onto the forest floor.
2) Besides, she thought with a wry smile, if Father wants my assistance in his games, then he'd better get used to the price. I don't come cheap.
3) Conscious of the grass stains dotting his shorts, Alec tugged his shirt tail a little lower.
4) The districts that lied in the shadow of the Granite Palace were already dark, only broken by dim firelight that flickered, ghost-like, in the blackness.
5) Her lips pressed into a thin line, Rebecca pretended not to see the little boy on the other side watching her as she closed the door, the protests of his coughing mother, the way that his father's hands tugged weakly at the glass.
