Tokidoki x Sephora
The second I heard about this collaboration you know my heart skipped a beat. Another marrying of two of my favorite things. Oh Tokidoki you are the devil. =p
The line isn't supposed to launch in Sephora stores until April but it appeared on the Sephora site about a week and a half ago...you know I was all over that! haha I decided to only order a few things because I wanted to see the product in-store before I bought a bunch of items.
I ordered the large amica makeup bag, an e/s in Skeletrina the cactus pups nail buffers and the serie uno nail files. I also got a bunch of samples including a deluxe sample of some Chloe perfume.
Overall I must say I'm (write down this date kids cause it's a first...) underwhelmed. =/ I don't think I've ever been underwhelmed with anything that bore the Tokidoki logo before.
I am definitely returning the Skeletrina e/s. The packaging is amazing, no doubt about that but the eye shadow itself looks NOTHING like the swatch on the site! It's shown as a shimmery purple blue and what I got was a pretty much matte average dark blue e/s. It has a TINY bit of shimmer, not even noticeable really. To Sephora's credit they have it listed as a "pearl" but even that is a stretch..it's matte in my book. And matte = blah..I never wear matte e/s and if I ever feel like it I have a whole pallete of MAC matte e/s. (Including a similar blue.) So back it goes. :/

Now onto the makeup bag, disappointment number 2. For me it isn't so much the bag as it is the price of the bag and what I received. The fabric isn't all that great average plastic...ok I can deal with that it is a MU bag. But its a LOT smaller then I anticipated and the storage space inside isn't even that spacious. You guys know me, I don't travel light...I'll fill up that thing in a second. I honestly wish it was at least 2 in longer and a bit deeper. =/
I'm still on the fence about returning it...what do you guys think? Is it worth nearly $50 (with tax)? I just think i could get a cute purse for a bit more. My Meow Madness Harajuku bag was $58 (including a discount..)!! The bag is just so freakin' adorable though. *sigh*

All was not lost though. My buffers and nail files were adorable and I'm very happy with them. :)
