What's with the requests for Yaoi anyway?

Now knowing where his assailant was, he started forming seals with his hand. It was a very simple telekinetic spell he was trying to form, but doing it without his mouth proved to be quite the feat. When he was done, a slight hum could be heard from the direction of his right hand and it started to glow a very light blue. Before the person in front of him managed to react at all, he swung his arm so that the spell would hit on the right side of the chest.

A loud base thump filled the room when Cousken’s hand hit it's target, and soon was followed by a sound of someone crashing into the wall and falling to the ground to Cousken’s left. Apparently the impact must have shattered the mans concentration, because his spell broke and he became visible.

He was in his forties, with a little baldness moving upwards from his forehead. To call him a bit chubby was an understatement. He wore clothes in the same style as everyone else, but his seemed less posh. Perhaps with a position of real significance came the lack of need to show off. His pointy hat had a wide brim, contrary to everyone else’s. From beneath light brown eyebrows he was giving Cousken a very evil look.

“You didn’t have to do that” he said from the floor. Cousken adjusted his clothing a bit, turned to him and did a slight bow.

“Good morning, Archchancelor. I only did what the situation forced me to, as I have warned you I would do, multiple times on previous occasions.” The necromancer straighten out his back, and sat down on one of the guest chairs, putting his hands together in front of him, ready for use. Anyone experienced in these matters recognized the position as “I’m ready to mess you up if you do something silly again”.

“Still” said Amazden getting up. He was not in good shape so it took a while “That hurt a lot” he yanked his hat off the ground and put it on his head, then sat down in his chair.

“You should be happy I’m not going to sue you for sexual harassment.”

“What’s that?” Cousken sighed.

“It’s a crime, when someone high up in a hmm, establishment, uses his position to take advantage of his underli…” he coughed “I mean, his workers, sexually. Like you did just now” Amazden’s frown deepened “Penalty for such acts is a silly amount of money in fines, and in some severe cases, the loss of one’s position” the necromancer smiled “Now, you wanted to see me?”

Amazden was playing with something in his hands, Cousken couldn’t tell what it was because of he stacks of papers in the way. The Archchancelor gave him a thoughtful look.

“You know, I don’t get it.” He said “I know you are bisexual, yet..”

“By the Gods!” Cousken interrupted him “We’ve been thru this before! Yes, I’ve fooled around with some men here, and I don’t know how, but somehow, you managed to get to know about it!” he was obviously angry about yet again having to explain the subject. He leaned forwards in his chair and was motioning with his hands. “I’ve told you before and will tell you again, that doesn’t mean anything and especially not that there ever will be something between us. And I wish you got that into that thick burocratic head of yours once and for all and stopped with the silly charades!” Because so help me Io, if you try that crap one more time, Bigby’s Telekinetic Hand will only be a beginning to what I unleash on you!”

“Hey!” the archcancelor was slowly getting infected with Cousken’s mood “Don’t you forget that you owe your current position to me only!"

“Bullshit!” Shouted out Cousken and stood up “I owe my position to myself, the department unanimously voted on me leading them! And if you have any other threats, well, you might as well keep them for yourself!” He spun around and headed for the exit.

“Wait!” Amazden shouted out from behind him as he was getting closer to the door. The necromancer sighed and turned around, arms crossed in front of him.

“What?”

“Look, I…” the archchancelor suddenly looked smaller “I’m sorry, okay?” he looked around the room, troubled “It will never happen again, I promise” he sighed “It’s just that… you know, it’s hard to let go” Cousken saw the look in his eyes and understood it. He nodded, and sat back down at his chair. “And it’s true, I had no hand in you aqquiring the position and status you have today, it’s all due to your hard work.” The necromancer smiled.

“Thank you” He said and after a slight pause, he asked “So is there some other reasone that you wished to see me for today?” Amazden nodded and shuffled some pappers on his desk, looking down on them.

“Our little secret team of specialist sent me an interesting rapport this morning, and I’ve sent onf of my students to get you…” Cousken raised his eyebrow and tried to remember. Suddenly, his eyes went wide and his face became blank.

“The little… team of specialist you assembled to examine a funny interdimensional portal that opened in the Grand Mess Hall about a year ago?”

“Yes, the very same that spat you out, to be blunt” He handed Cousken a couple of papers with a serious look on his face. The necromancer took them and looked thru them. There were diagrams of energy flows thru and around dimensions, powers that fuel any dimensional travel were measured and put down in tables… He recognized some of the dates, but the rest of it didn’t tell him much

“Uhm… Energetic Thaumaturgy isn’t really my strongest side, could you…?” Amazden put his hands together in front of him and smiled.

“I’m happy to know I’m still better at some things.” Cousken smirked, as those things were still many “As you see, my men managed to specify the energies surrounding your specific portal. We only have measurements after the day of it’s appearance, so we can’t really say how the flows of energy look before it happened. But, look at want was happening continuously during the 3 months after it’s appearance.” Cousken shuffled the pappers.

“The energies… were constantly falling. Mm obviously, after the portal was used, the energies dispersed slowly.” Amazden nodded.

“Right you are, and now go to page 43.” Cousken shuffled the pappers, and found the page. As he examined it, a cold shiver ran down his spine.

“By Ba.. by the Gods!” old habbits really die hard “They are rising again! The same energies, the same configuration!” The Archcancelor nodded with a grim face.

“We can’t be sure how an opening of a portal looks on the energy flow chart before it happens, but our best guess is…” he looked down, obviously nervous, and then looked straight back into Cousken’s eyes. “Look, you told me some about the place you came from. You will always have the full support of our University, but we expect the same from you. Do you have any idea what is coming?” The necromancer’s face was even more pale than usual, if that was at all possible.

“Amazden… we don’t even know if… if it’s from the same dimension I came… and even if it is, it might just be another person saved from that place.. I mean, this doesn’t have to mean anything, not even that a portal is opening, or that they are sending… sending and army” His voice got quieter and quieter as he talked.

“An army? So that is a possibility?” Amazden wore his serious mask on, but deep inside the pick of fear started chipping away on his wall of composure. Cousken nodded, not looking at him anymore. He stared blankly into space.

“Two months.” He said “Two months to get the dust off our old war staffs…”
