So I wanted to write about this last night but it was too damn late and I
was too damn tired after setting up this whole thing! Yesterday I recieved
a phone call from Jared while at work. He said he had my credit card
company on the other line, and they wanted to know if I had purchased $1100
worth of computer equipment on-line. I was shocked. OF COURSE I didn't...
Kate Spade bags maybe...shoes, most definitely... Expensive cosmetics...ABSOLUTELY! But computer equipment???? NEVER! So someone has
stolen my credit card number, and gone to town charging up online. I was
upset, a little startled, a little scared. It kind of jolts you, thinking
that someone can do that. You take for granted that you can just buy
something online, because it's so convenient. Or that you can go to a full
service gas station and trust the guy to walk inside with your card. You
just can't trust anyone, and I feel SO naive sometimes. It's just so scary
that someone can invade your life like that.
Now there I was, at work and helpless, listening to Jared at the
other end of the phone talking to the fraud guy from the bank, and I am
simply panicking. Jared hangs up the phone, and I made some kind of
comment about how I can't believe it, how could that happen, what will I
do... ?? And he MOCKED ME. He made fun of me! "Oh my god! What am I
gonna do! poor me!!" , over and over in a squeeky, high-pitched voice
(supposed to me?? I think not!). I told him that he knows damn well, if it
was his credit card that he would be freaking out just as much, and I
politely reminded him that I would not be making fun of him for that. He
agreed, and apologized.
So that was my story of credit card theft. It's not a pleasant experience, by any means. And I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (and I don't specifically mean you, Seth).
As far as the fish are concerned, we learned that Jared was feeding them too much, and that's what was destroying the balance of the tank. Too much food. So he hasn't been feeding them as much. Trigger then took it upon himself to find his own food, thus Little Blue Guy is no more. We have lost our third fish this week... My God, when will it end!?!?!
