Worries
Life is interesting. Towards the end of last semester I applied to go on a summer mission trip with Campus Crusade for Christ in Ocean City, New Jersey. Yeah I know really suffering on a mission trip huh? LoL. Well now about 6 months later 2 days before the deadline of when we are supposed to know if we are accepted or not I sit here waiting. I mean we are supposed to be patient but holy cow really cutting it to the wire here. Then to boot 2 of my friends have been contacted to get some more information about their applications and my roomy Dave was told that there have been 90 applicants for 50 spots. Almost double the people that get to go are getting turned away. At first thought I was really anxious to see if I was going to be one of the ones taken since I did put in my application last semester but then I began to ponder. I mean what about all those other guys that could really use the experience and the growth to go closer to God why can’t they go. I mean you can say where there are so many other projects that they could go to but actually no. All the stateside projects are filled. Yeah you got it they are not taking any more applications and with the ones they do have they have to cut down to the number that they are allowed to have. My thoughts as from before were I hope all my friends get in but then what about everybody else. What are they going to do this summer? But as I thought that the title of the book I am reading comes to mind “It’s NOT about Me”. That’s right nothings is about me the lord uses everything for his glory. That’s so hard at times to realize because of everything thing that is out there that isn’t of God. But I mean if you really think about it if there wasn’t disease if there wasn’t war if there weren’t economic fluctuations that caused people to get laid off and anger what kind of world would that be. Would that be a world there to glorify you and me? Wouldn’t the outcome of that be total happiness for me? I mean I would get everything I wanted and never have to worry about anything? Here is the clincher it’s not about me nor is it about you. What happens in this world isn’t supposed to bring you glory give you everything you want its supposed to make it so you can deny those world urges that have been instilled in you from the beginning. To be better than the person next to you, to have the best looking car, to surpass everyone to make you the best, ME, ME, ME , Me and ME. So what I am saying is whoever reads this this is a challenge to you guys to really look at your life and see whom am I living for? What drives me to do the things you do?
