Took today off from work to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. As a gardener, this has always been my favorite time of the year. Just waiting for the sun to come up, so I can get out in the yard and get started with my long list of chores. Later, as a reward, perhaps some new annuals from the local nursery.
For fun, a shot of one of the Thunbergia Mysorensis blooms against the fence. It always amuses me when this blooms, because the people at Marie Selby assure me that I cannot grow this north of Venice, and I certainly can't get it to bloom north of Naples, at least outside a greenhouse. I've had this plant for five years, and it's bloomed for 3 of them, without any care, or even watering. In fact, it's climbed my avocado tree, and is about 20' high even now.
