Living with Katie has definitely livened up my life a bit. It's been a while since I've had the energy or inclination to go out to a bar. Lately I've been going quite a bit. Did you know that there are single men at bars? And seriously, if you flirt with the ugly bartender long enough, you can usually get a free drink or two.

On Friday, we decided to test out the Bayou Cafe. Here are it's ratings:

Music: A- They had a live band, which was cool, but they took an hour long drinking break at midnight, and put on a cd, which was not cool. While they were up there, they were pretty good though.

Atmosphere: A It's clean, and pretty cool looking, with all sorts of archways, and rooms, and the bathrooms were actually pretty nice.

Men: B- Most of the good looking guys left before midnight for some reason, and the ones that were left were actually kind of old. By old, I mean they were my Dad's age. YUCK!

Alcohol: A+ None of the drinks that I got were watered down at all, and I had quite a few. (All for the purpose of writing this important review of course) AND THEN...I decided to do something a little different, and instead of ordering the usual drinks, I decided to walk up to the bar, randomly choose a bottle, and ask for a shot of whatever I chose. It so happened that my gaze fell upon a bottle of 99 Blackberries first, so I asked for a shot of that. The bartender steps back with this awed look on his face, grabs the bottle, and then nudges one of the other bartenders and tells him to watch. He then poured me a short glass of it (approx 4 shots) and tells me that if I can drink the whole thing in front of him (and by now 15 or so others are watching) then it's on him. So I'm thinking "cool! free alcohol". Never being a girl to pass up a bargain, I decide to go for it. And I did it. And I will be eternally grateful for whatever it was that kept me from barfing all over the bar in front of all those people.

Location: B A couple doors down from Jillians, and across the street from Mad River, The Big House, and Pearl, it affords the opportunity to move on to a different bar relatively easy if one so chose. Parking however sucks.

Tune in next week for another bar review.
