I haven't posted regularly in a long, long while, so I seriously doubt anyone even reads this anymore. And I'm almost certain my favorite anonymous commenter won't be poking around here anymore. Alas.
I was lying on the bench in the flower garden last night at twilight when I thought of how some people are like backyard plants.
Some people remind me of trees: tall and strong, good to lean on and beautiful in their subtly.
Other people are like flowers: a bit flashy and vague on purpose, until you realize there are always things buzzing about them, borrowing their pollen and taking it on to other places.
Some people are like weeds: they crop up in the most inconvenient places and no matter how many times you pull them up or chop them down, they usually come right back. Weeds can be good or bad, I think.
Anyway, I was just lying there, listening to the evening, the owls softly calling to each other, and I was thinking. Those comparisons certainly aren't original, I'm sure, but I liked them nonetheless.
I'll be in Disneyworld in 18 days. It's exciting, no matter how many times you've been.
I have dates booked for work things all the way up until May of next year. I've never been this busy. I hope I make it.
I'm not ready for summer to be over yet....
And summer arrives with a length of lights
And summer blows away
And quietly gets swallowed by a wave....
