Soooo.... Laura and Arthur's wedding ended up being really fun (without a date!) Allan was my dancing partner since him and I share the same interest in dancing like nerds. It was delightful. I even taught everyone the Thriller dance and the Monay Monay dance. We went to Lou and Rubys after the wedding where I ran into Garrett. I declined an invitation to spend the night at his house and went home where I stayed up until 5am thinking.
I spoke to Luke the next day- told him what I wanted: an adult relationship.
Told him what I didn't want: to be jerked around. therefor a relationship with him.
He came over the next day for my birthday and asked if he could come. I said yes. The next day he took me out to dinner and asked if I would hear him out. I did.
He finally FINALLY opened up and told me a lot of things that didn't excuse his behavior (i don't think anything could do that) but it did explain a lot. I decided that while I refuse to give him yet another chance, we could start over in a little while if I was still feeling like it was something I was willing to put my time into. That was of course after I took forty five minutes to explain to him the things that I wanted, expected, would and would not tolerate. I told him that we would not be spending the holiday together as previously planned and we would take the time apart to reflect on what was important to us and what we wanted from the world and each other.
So I guess we'll see how that goes.
