last night i visited a friends loft near SCI-arc it was honestly the most amazing space i have ever been in. the building was something iconic and the loft space itself can take your breath away. Inhabited by students at SCI-arc, artist, architects, builders, creators who have constructed suspended rooms and platforms and panted directly onto the plaster walls. The openness of the rooms is unnerving, beds perch on the edge of 11 ft drops, a ladder in the center of the room leans against a impressive wood work table suspended by cables from the ceiling of the two story space. the latter is the fastest way to the roof; or the skylight which is forced open onto a picture perfect rooftop. covered in hundreds of plants, even a lemon tree, tables made of old doors and a eclectic collection of chairs and benches. The 5 floor walk up is home to like 4 people at this moment. I hope sometime in the next 5 years i can live in a place like this with two of my closest friends.... probably in NY, bbut LA will also do. ugh a girl can dream....
